Michael Davis is Managing Director of The Great Game Travel Company Limited, an adventure travel company running tours in Central Asia. (If your DNS doesn't recognise the new dot travel TLD, you can view the site above at the old URI, greatgametravel.co.uk. Oh yeah, and update your DNS.)
I live in Belfast and travel a lot to Central Asia. Although I am not working in the IT sector at the moment, my background is in Software Engineering. I studied Computer Science at Brunel University in West London and worked for a few years as a software developer.
After a brief dalliance with OS/2 in the mid-nineties, I settled on Linux as my OS of choice and today the company uses Debian GNU/Linux in the back office and on the desktop. I am rarely seen without my Sharp Zaurus Linux handheld.
Slithy, for those who don't know, comes from the first line of Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky. Besides nonsense poetry, I enjoy rock climbing and 1980s electropop, especially Depeche Mode. I eat organic vegetables and drive a car powered by LPG. So there.
