From BLUG

There are some things TODO at some point. One thing is to make this site look better.

We need a public web site, and this wiki may turn out to be it. But I'm not sure: we might be better with a simple site to start with. Although a wiki would make it easy for everyone to contribute. Opinions? Marty 02:58, 2 December 2005 (GMT)

How about a wiki that is publicly readable but editable only by BLUG members (using something like this)? --Clelandb 10:50, 3 December 2005 (GMT)

That seems to be a good idea to start with Marty 12:29, 3 December 2005 (GMT)

Should we use the wiki for the discussion about the Momentum Event? It might be a useful place to brainstorm/share & record ideas. --Clelandb 01:00, 9 December 2005 (GMT)

Do you want to use /this/ wiki? Or do you want to setup another one? And if we make this one into the BLUG website, do we want to allow public edit access? Marty 01:23, 9 December 2005 (GMT)

I guess they'd probably be two separate wikis since the requirements are different. In my opinion it would be nice for this site to go live fairly soon. We still need some introductory stuff added to the front page, and it would be good to have some content for the About and Contact pages. Apart from that I think it's ready to go. As I said above, I think it should be public-read and member-edit. As for a project-specific closed wiki, I haven't really thought through what the requirements are. Maybe that's something we need to discuss next time we meet up. --Brian 11:57, 10 December 2005 (GMT)

Why two wikis? What are the requirements for the other wiki? Would a namespace in this wiki suffice? -- Russell Wed, 12 Dec 2005 18:38:52 +0000

Can we add an "Announcements" page to the main Navigation bar? I was thinking this would be useful for things like Ciaran's Northern Ireland FOSS mailing list (which may have been announced on the mailing list but some people like me may have missed ...) --Slithy 00:24, 21 January 2006 (GMT)

I think that's probably a good idea. In the meantime I have added an announcement to the main page. Maybe we could leave this up for a while to help the list get started? --Brian 02:21, 21 January 2006 (GMT)

Are people still planning to use this wiki? There have been few updates in the past year and I'm sure there must have been some developments in Linux in NI. Plus: Is there any chance the default skin can be improved somewhat? It looks kinda, well, default. I'd even have a go myself if someone gives me access to the code. --Peter 17:55, 23 May 2007 (GMT)

Mostly it seems to have got spammed recently. Noodles 22:49, 11 June 2007 (BST)
I think /not/ using this site is a waste. I'd love to add an articles section where users can add how-to's etc, but is there much point if the local linux user base isn't interested in such things. --PRAEst76 12:07, 12 June 2007 (BST)
