From BLUG
FOSS is Free Open Source Software.
Some people use FLOSS: Free Libre Open Source Software.
Those terms are used when you want to refer to Free Software and Open Source without choosing a philosophy. Acronyms are better than arguments.
If you don't know the difference between Free Software and Open Source you should probably find out.
In the expansion of both acronyms there should really be some punctuation, but English punctuation isn't good at distributing the "Software" with the adjectives.
Using extended regular expressions you might write:
(Free|Libre|Open Source) Software
or in bash you might use:
{Free,Libre,"Open Source"}" Software;"
