From BLUG
Hey guys,
Sorry for the very late meeting minutes, since i was away at Lug Radio Live 2009 i had a few things to sort out this week. But its done now :)
Although it was a small quick meet, we did discuss some things. But yeah just wondering has anyone seen that movie ZombieLand http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-cIjPOJdFM I am going to go see it tonight anyways... hehe
@colin: Brought up the money from the recruiter, and what our thoughts are on it were. We eventually came to a consensus with us few that were at the meet. That we are not convinced we need fully allocated roles like a treasurer, due to the fact that we may only get something like this once every 1 - 2 years. But if we did get a more stable forum where we actually have money to worry about we WILL have one. Its just a little too early.
Then this brings us to what do we do with it? Its still quite open and i think we should open another mail thread, though probably most of us are going to argue what to do with it ie. what charity or whatever. In my eyes i only see 2 charities worth giving it too open rights group or Linux.com. But you have to remember that they won't notice this small token of money. And in the end it wouldn't really help. Then other choices would include putting it towards a FOSS event, but that amount of money wont travel far it getting something like a barcamp together. So really a good choice we thought would be to spent it on a netbook with Linux and have it as a raffle prize at the next barcamp that will happen anyways.
But i would urge someone to create a new thread on this topic so we can make sure everyone gets there opinion in before we make some consensus, but remember we still haven't received the money...
@steve: bug trackers TRAC is ok does the job and easy to setup, what was the name of the one your setting up now?
@redbrain: I use redmine on http://dev.crules.org its a ruby bugtracker thing it seems nice. If you want a project space on there just give me a shout. There is also http://crules.org but i haven't got much documentation of the language on there, only documentation is on http://dev.crules.org/wiki/crules, but it doesn't quite look right because i just copied and pasted my README in there haha.
I am going to send around a new more mails detailing some more blug'y things you might be interested in. So stay tunned on this space. Oh yeah its worth noting the food has good a bit better in the taphouse, with a new menu etc!
